Read MoreLet me begin my introducing myself. I am Natasha Williams: former graphic designer, turned teacher, turned stay at home mom, turned teacher again, turned marketer, turned blogger/designer. I haven't been able to figure out what I want to be when I grow up – so it just seemed natural to do what I love – all things home and design.
What is Linenwood Home? Linenwood Home is a design consulting service and lifestyle blog. After years of going through many different career paths, I decided it was time to do something I am truly passionate about - creating comfortable, functional and beautiful spaces. Most of all, I really just want to inspire others to live life beautifully. I believe that our surroundings affect our mood, so if you always have something pretty to look at, you'll always be smiling. ;-)
In 2009, my home decorating and interior design dreams came true when my husband and I stumbled upon a house {ca. 1908} for sale in the North Hill Historical District of Pensacola. It was in pretty rough shape and needed a tremendous amount of work, as you can see in the pictures above. We did a lot of the work ourselves. I remember walking into the house and my husband literally looked at me as if to say, you’re crazy if you think I’m buying this. Long story short, I fell in love with the house, and somehow talked him into buying it. Together, we made it into the wonderful home we live in today.
How do I describe my style? I love comfortable and inviting spaces, spaces where guests don't want to leave. I love a home that looks pretty. I love decorating with a neutral palette and then adding splashes of color. {I also have recently realized that I have a weird obsession with quirky animal accents, but I’ll save that for a later post.}
Linenwood Home is the result of many years of being passionate about home design and decorating. Since I owned my first home, I fell in love with decorating. My first condo was painted all sorts of different colors – a red bedroom, a black and silver swirly painted bathroom, and I even applied a faux finish on the living room walls. Yikes - you live and you learn, right?
I have been inspired by so many other design blogs including: Dear Lillie and Studio McGee, just to name a few {if you haven't already, you should really check those out}.
I can't wait to share my new adventure with you! To start this journey, here is a fun before and after of the exterior of our home:
